 It is possible to configure the PC to carry out the same processes as what WinForcer does by tampering with the system registry. The difference though is that messing around with the system registry is a relatively slow and painstaking process, and also in certain scenarios the plan can backfire resulting in more problems being created. WinForcer on the other hand is an application and uses API; hence most of its operations don’t tamper with the system registry, allowing for much quicker and easier resetting of operations and choosing options. Hence when in most situations you need to reboot the pc after altering the system registry, with WinForcer you merely have to restart the application.
Let’s take the example where you want to set up printer sharing for a new user. Now using a registry invasive utility, one would have to log in as the administrator, reset the other user’s privileges, then log in as the other user set up the printer, log out, log back in as administrator, once again edit the other user’s privileges and then finally log back out of the administrator. Now with WinForcer all one has to do is suspend the application, set up the printer and then resume the application. As can be seen WinForcer provides just as much security with half the hassle.
WinForcer is also much safer to use. Consider the horrific situation when you cannot log in and change settings even as the administrator! Now when using a registry invasive utility there are three options: Try and fix the registry utility. Attempt to edit the registry setting by yourself. Reinstall the operating system. The third option clearly a frightening last resort.
With WinForce however all that one needs to do is suspend the program, and if that doesn’t work, then log back in as the administrator since WinForcer doesn’t prevent administrator usage, and since WinForcer doesn’t tamper with the registry for most of its operations, the system is still secure and fully operational. As can be seen, WinForcer has many advantages over its registry invasive counterparts.
